UCSF NEUROSURGERY IN NAPA VALLEY
SÖREN SINGEL, MD, FAANS

The Department of Neurological Surgery at UCSF is pleased to announce the addition of Sören A. Singel, MD, FAANS to our outreach services at Queen of the Valley Hospital in Napa Valley. Dr. Singel is a board-certified neurosurgeon and serves as director of the Peggy Herman Neuroscience Center at Queen of the Valley.

Dr. Singel, together with a multidisciplinary team at the Center, treats patients suffering from neurological conditions such as tumors, spinal lesions, peripheral nerve disorders, many cerebrovascular disorders, acute and chronic pain syndromes, idiopathic normal pressure hydrocephalus, and the majority of brain and spinal injuries — and offers a full continuum of care that includes prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation. Queen of the Valley Hospital is home to the only trauma, acute rehabilitation, and outpatient wellness centers in Napa Valley.

Dr. Singel was formerly the Chief of Vascular and Endovascular Neurosurgery at the Department of Neurosurgery at Baylor, Scott & White in Texas where he was instrumental in establishing the Neurosurgery Residency Program. He received training in neurological surgery at the University of California, San Diego and completed a fellowship in vascular and endovascular neurosurgery at the Semmes Murphey Neurological Institute at the University of Tennessee, Memphis. Dr. Singel has also served on the faculty of Texas A&M University College of Medicine. His current research interests include neurogerontology and biomedical sensor technology.
